Quick Post

This is just a quick post to tell any readers that I am home and will hopefully begin posting again tomorrow. I am tired but well. Thank you so much to those who have prayed for me throughout this entire trip. I know I learned a lot, and hopefully God used His strength through me to encourage pastors and Christians there, as they encouraged me!

    1. Yo! This is the post the day before I got malaria... I actually thought I was fine! Hee, hee, fun memory! Haven't been back here in a while!

    2. Oy, malaria...I'm thankful to have never had anything that infamous.

    3. BTW you probably already know, but I'm "Lilla"...since I'm logged into my Gmail, and this is Blogpost, it's using my full name, instead of my nickname.

    4. He now knows your full name... O.o

Okay, so do I have to reload in order ot see new comments, or am I missing something here?

    5. Yeah, Laura, you have to reload the page in order to see comments. It's the bad part about Blogger... I'm going to get Disqus over here soon, but not yet! Time, time, time!

    1. Hey, Elisabeth! I'm Taylor! So, what has Laura told you about me? Just wondering how I should introduce myself here!

    2. Mmmm told me you like martial arts and are a lot like the brother between us in age...and random other things I don't remember offhand.

    3. Okay, cool. Do you go by Lilla or Elisabeth? Just curious...

    4. I call her Lilla, mostly because I call her that on Revive so much.

    5. Lilla is my nickname from childhood that I use a lot online and my family still uses at least some; Elisabeth is my given name and what I use at work and most of my in-person friends. So...I use both. When I was a student worker at college, my boss called me "Fred" and my coworkers called me "George", so I'll answer to anything.

    6. Okay, I see. I'll be frank, I know next to nothing about you! :) So, how old are you, what do you for work, etc.? Just who are you, I guess!

      Delete
    7. Wait, *you* were George? I thougth that was the one guy in miss Mel's choir...

      Delete
    8. Okay, Fred, I see. Yeah, I've answered to a lot of other names as well. Taylor, Tyler, Ty, Baylor, etc.

    9. I've told you very little about Lilla, haven't I, Taylor?

      Delete
    10. So, Taylor, I guess you can introduce yourself too; she mostly knows you as the missionary guy who's like Joe. :)

    11. Yeah, let's see, I know Lilla is the older one, but beyond that, I honestly don't know much! Older, but is she the more responsible... Ah, the age old question of siblings! Let me ask, Lilla, was Laura the rebellious little kid or the sweet, perfect kid? :)

    12. Taylor - I'm 24, I'm a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), work at a small college in KY as the Controller (kinda the head of accounting), a job which I love, though I've only been there since December. Outside of work, my favorite place to be is at home with Brent, esp since we bought our own house almost 2 years ago. When I was in college, I thought I was an extrovert, but now I'd rather stay home for the weekend than go out and do anything. I live in a town of 3000 people (where Laura lived too a few years ago) in the backhills of KY, so it's a very isolated culture...which I love, but is definitely different.

Laura - At SAU I was "George" cause of some character on some TV show that htey somehow associated with me...but George was also a kid in choir.

    13. Hey, no asking leading questions Taylor! Older siblings are not allowed to collaborate against the younger.

    14. Hmm not sure I'll naswer that question, cause Laura might be enough like me that anything I say would be self-incriminating...so I plead the 5th amendment. :) Nah, Laura was rebellious as a kid, neither was I (I don't htink)...but I haven't lived in the same state as her since 2011, so all bets are off about the teenager. ;)

      Delete
    15. Shoot, I meant to tyep she *wasn't* rebellious as a kid...durn typos!

      Delete
    16. *ahem* Lilla, you said I was rebellious as a kid. Did you really mean that??
And Taylor knows the teenager Laura, so it's useless to plant doubts there. :P
In all honesty, I wasn't one of the model children. Those were Mo and Caitlin.

    17. Okay, nice! That's kinda cool! Never been to Kentucky, would love to visit though. Let's see, Laura says I should introduce myself as well. So here goes.

I'm 17, heavily involved in competitive taekwondo, homeschooled, and kind of a mess sometimes. :) Sometimes considered mildly insane or slightly crazy, but I feel that's much more fun than being normal. I am intending to get a BA in Biblical Studies and work in missions when I am out of high school. There's some starter info!

      Delete
    18. There's the family resemblance, Taylor; all of us R's are crazy too.

      Delete
    19. Ha, ha, sorry, I couldn't resist the opportunity when it presented itself. I mean, how often to you get the chance to get the inside scoop on that! You sure it was a type?... I think the truth just slipped out...

      Delete
    20. I meant "typo". Wow... nice going, Taylor. You can't even spell "typo"...

      Delete
    21. Laura, refresh again - I corrected myself! :) KY is kinda awesome. If you like the outdoors or hillbilly accents, you should definitely visit someday!

I have long wanted to learn a martial art, but so far my only training is what friends ahve shown me of what they learned. I have done capoiera conditioning workouts, though, and they're killers.

    22. Just wait until I find Aimee on here, then the truth will come out! So play nice, because it will be reciprocated.
I think it was a typo. We'll have to take her word for it, I think.

    23. Freudian slip and all that? ;) Nope, just the result of listening to a documentary, chatting here, and having another deep conversation on IM, all while 2 horus past my bedtime.

      Delete
    24. I like the outdoors and hillbilly accents! So I should fit right in!

Hey, hey, hey, she will tell you instantly that I was a rebel. :) It just all depends on how you define that word!

Yeah, they're pretty cool! I love taekwondo, and have been able to compete with it a lot, so the more you learn, the more fun it gets. And i believe it! Capoiera is no sissie's game!

    25. :P Ah, I see! Hey, it's Saturday, enjoy it! Watch that documentary, kick your feet back, pour yourself some coffee (unless you're like me and don't like coffee), and enjoy a Saturday!

      Delete
    26. I'll be back in a couple minutes, another sister wants me...

      Delete
    27. I'll drink coffee in the morning, but it's waaaaay too late for coffee for me. But it is Saturday night, and Monday's a holiday so I can afford to sleep in. :)

    28. But aren't you popular, Laura?

So, Lilla, what are your hobbies? Or do 24 year olds still have hobbies? :)

      Delete
    29. I'm sleeping in tomorrow too. Thank heaven for afternoon church sometimes! :)

    30. Mmm I play video games some...but I'm mostly boring. Since I started this job, I've been working long hours (we've been short-staffed and in busy season), so I've mostly come home, crashed, cooked dinner (if it wasn't late enough that I got something on the way home), and then went to bed. But I find video games relaxing, so will use them to de-stress sometimes. Otherwise the things I find enjoyable are boring like cooking, mowing, and other things unworthy of talking about. :)

      Delete
    31. Yep, I'm popular! :)

You have afternoon church? Lucky... I'm leaving at 9:15 for Sunday School.

      Delete
    32. Speaking of leaving for church... I've gotta go now.

      Delete
    33. Boooooooring. :) I understand, when work is that much of your time, you can't help but want to come home and crash!

Laura, well, Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest even more than it is supposed to be a day of church, so... :)

    34. Oh! I know something somewhat interesting... Brent and I both like finding odd but useful contraptions. Our msot recent acquisition is a robot vacuum. If the floors are clean, we can turn it on in the living room, and 45 minutes later the whole house is vacuumed. It's quite fun to watch, as it is programmed intelligently.

Oh, I have dabbled in and enjoy programming, too, but have never done anything really with it. Just know how to troubleshoot code, basically, not to write my own.

      Delete
    35. I guess having a robotic vacuum immediately clears you of all boring charges. :) That would be pretty cool! "programmed intelligently" as in "chase Brent around the house, nipping at his heels?"

    36. "Laura, well, Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest even more than it is supposed to be a day of church, so... :)"

This is why I don't think that church-day should be one's Sabbath. When life is busy, I believe a Sabbath rest is essential for functioning (I had a year of school that was very hectic - like literally had 10 minutes a day free from work and studying - but I made msyelf take a 24-hour Sabbath, and it's the only way I didn't have major issues form fatigue), yet most people call Sunday their Sabbath then go to church and deal with social stresses and cook big Sunday dinners etc. Not restful IMHO.

    37. I wish, Taylor. But I did get out of that church picnic I was telling you about, so it's only the morning. *happy dance (since I'm not at the library anymore)
Lilla, I've gotta see that vaccuum!

    38. Alright, I gotta bail too. I have a satirical blog post to write tonight, and maybe some other stuff as well. So, Lilla, it was very nice to meet you, and i hope to talk to you again sometime! :) See ya!

      Delete
    39. Well, Jesus addressed this! "Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath". Laying down a regimented routine of forced services is simply Pharisaical.

      Delete
    40. @Laura You've gotta come visit and we can watch it all day. :) Maybe in a couple years...

@Taylor Nice to meet you too. Satire is one of my favorite forms of expression, so I'll have to refresh your blog after a bit...
